The selections on this project were recorded in the same time span as my recent release, “Worm”. They were part of after dinner ‘improvisational recording/therapy/puzzling/meditation’ sessions that worked as a performative counter balance to the reality of that time. The inspiration for all of these harmonic puzzles was the melodies. My friend and mentor, the late Keith House, insisted that in music, like this, the melody must be heard (pretty much) all the time. Good advice. The melodies presented here are some touchstones from the music that has spoken to me through the years. Simple melodies. Beautiful melodies. Soothing melodies. Happy melodies.Hans Christian Andersen once said, "Where words fail, music speaks." Hopefully, these melodies will spark a memory or a dream that will speak to you and bring a smile or two for whatever reason.I hope you all enjoy.
